Recyclables are collected one day per week by CRP Sanitation:
MONDAY: Sections 1 & 7
TUESDAY: Section 6
THURSDAY: Sections 2 & 3
FRIDAY: Sections 4 & 5
In recognition of the following holidays, recycling pickup for
Sections 1 & 7 will be on Tuesday Sections 2 & 3 will be on Wednesday
and Section 6 will be on Wednesday: and Sections 4 & 5 will be on Thursday:

Recycling Collections in Condominiums & Apartments:

Call the office at (914) 245-4438 if you do not have a Yorktown green recycling bin (pictured above).
Place the following COMMINGLED CONTAINERS in the green recycling bin:
RECYCLE clear, green or brown glass jars and bottles. Rinse containers, discard lids and caps - place unbroken glass in the bin.
RECYCLE plastic containers coded 1 or 2 (find number stamped on the bottom of container inside the recycling symbol - three arrows making a triangle). Rinse containers, discard caps, and place in bin.
RECYCLE food and beverage cans, clean aluminum foil and trays, and empty aerosol cans. Rinse metal containers and place in bin.
PAPER & CARDBOARD in brown paper bags:
RECYCLE newspapers, magazines, catalog, junk mail, telephone books, brown corrugated cardboard and one-layered grey cardboard. Place paper in brown, kraft paper bags (from the supermarket). PLEASE DO NOT USE PLASTIC BAGS!
Fill up to 4 bags per week and set next to the green recycling bin.
Carboard boxes must be emptied of all packing material, excessive amounts of tape removed, and flattened.
Do not use cardboard boxes to hold papers.
If you do not have paper bags, then bundle & tie your papers, or place them in a plastic bin (note: never in the same bin with commingled containers!).
Do not recycle hard-covered books, waxed cardboard (such as milk cartons), plastic or styrofoam packing materials, or greasy pizza boxes.

Important Reminders:
* Place ALL recyclables at curbside by 6:00 am on your scheduled recycling day.
* Recyclables will be collected by two separate trucks at different times of the day.
* Do not mix paper and commingled recyclables in the same bin!
* When you move, please leave the recycling bin with the house.
* Additional bins cost $ 6.00 and are available at the Environmental Conservation Office
(behind the Police Station).
* Recycling saves natural resources and tax dollars.
DO NOT RECYCLE ceramic dishes and cookware; light bulbs; plastic flowerpots; plastic bags; plastic toys; aerosol cans that held bug spray or paint; or clothes hangars. These items will be collected with Bulk Trash.
