The Town of Yorktown is a beautiful community in Northern Westchester County, New York, 35 miles from New York City, with forty square miles of rolling hills, farmland, residential areas and light industry.

One of Westchester County's largest nature preserves is located in southern Yorktown at Teatown Lake Reservation. Two 18-hole public golf courses are located at the Sanctuary Golf Course and at the County owned Mohansic Golf Course.
Yorktown's major commuting artery is the Taconic Parkway which runs north-south through the Town. US Route 6 is the Town's northern east-west road, Routes 202/35 runs east-west through central Yorktown and Route 129 runs along the northern edge of the Croton Reservoir. Yorktown features several historic neighborhoods and five business centers; Mohegan Lake, Shrub Oak, Jefferson Valley, Crompond, and Yorktown Heights.
