New Building Permit Fees and Administrative Procedures in Effect November 1, 2010.

NOTICE
Beginning Monday, November 1, 2010, the following Building Permit fees and administrative procedures will be in effect.

 Permit applications filed with the Building Department will be DISCARDED if no activity is recorded on file for a continuous period of TWO YEARS. A new Application for a Building Permit will then be required.
 Building Permits become invalid if work is not commenced within 6 months of issuance.
 Building Permits expire 12 MONTHS from the date of issuance. If work has commenced, permits may be extended for 12 months upon payment of 25% of the original fee, and 50% of the original fee for a second 12 month extension.
 Permits may be extended for 12 months upon payment of the applicable fee.
 ALL Building Permits expire 3 years from the date of issuance. A new Building Permit will then be required for additional or continued work.
 Construction must proceed in accordance with plans approved by, and on file with, the Building Department. Changes and revisions to construction design must be approved by the Building Department prior to continuing with work.
 A building or structure erected or altered under a Building Permit may not be occupied or used until a Certificate of Occupancy has been issued by the Building Department.

RATE OF FEES

Application Fee - Payable at the time the Application for a Building Permit is submitted:
Residential Addition----------------------------------------------------------------- $50.00
New Single-family dwelling or multi-family dwelling------------------------ $100.00
Non-residential addition or alteration------------------------------------------- $150.00
New Non-residential structure---------------------------------------------------- $300.00
Application fees are non-refundable, and will be subtracted from the final Building Permit fee.


Building Permit fee, based upon the total estimated cost of construction, payable upon issuance of the permit:
