    Yorktown Comprehensive Plan SEQRA Page

    This document represents the first significant update of Yorktown's Comprehensive Plan in the last 20 years and puts forth a renewed vision for Yorktown's future. This vision, as expressed herein, is extremely detailed and multi-faceted, encompassing all areas of day-to-day life, from land use, housing, and transportation, to parks and community facilities.

    Planning Board

    The Town Board of the Town of Yorktown established a Planning Board on June 15, 1932.  The Planning board is responsible for insuring development is executed in accordance with the Town's Comprehensive Plan which guides development and patterns throughout the Town.

    Advisory Board on Architecture & Community Appearance (ABACA)

    The ABACA was created by the Town Board in 1975.  The Board reviews all site plan and subdivision applications to provide guidance in the architectural design of proposed developments.  The ABACA also reviews commercial sign permit applications to maintain consistent, high quality, character enhancing signage is placed throughout town.
