The Water Dept. staff will not be flushing fire hydrants on Wednesday, May 22nd, Thursday, May 23rd and Friday, May 24th.  Have a safe and happy Memorial Day. 

  • The Yorktown Consolidated Water District will be flushing fire hydrants in parts of sections four, five, six and seven from May 6, 2013 – June 14, 2013 between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.     Northern Westchester Joint Water Works

    Discontinuation of Fluoridation to Town of Yorktown’s Water


    On or about January 2, 2013, the Northern Westchester Joint Water Works will no longer be fluoridating Yorktown’s water produced at our Catskill Facility. The facility’s fluoride feed system is in need of repair and has been taken off-line preemptively.

  • Annual Drinking Water Quality Report for 2011

    To comply with State and Federal regulation, the Yorktown Consolidated Water District annually issues a report describing the quality of your drinking water.  the purpose of this report is to raise your understanding of drinking water and awareness of the need to protect our drinking water resources.  This report provides an overview of last year's water quality, including details about your sources of water, what it containss, and how it compares to State and Federal standards. 

  • Fire Hydrant

    The Yorktown Consolidated Water District conducts its semi-annual hydrant flushing normally during the months of April/May and September/October. Further details (time and location) will be posted on this website and the local government channel up to one week prior to when the flushing will commence. Notice may also be published in the Yorktown Pennysaver (formerly North County News) and the Yorktown Examiner up to one week prior to flushing.

    The Consolidated Water District of the Town of Yorktown, in existence since January 1, 1970, services approximately 10,000 accounts. The main sources of water are the Amawalk Reservoir and the New York City Aqueduct from the Catskills.
