YORKTOWN HYDRANT FLUSHING NOTICE
The Yorktown Consolidated Water District will be flushing fire hydrants beginning September 20, 2010 until November 19, 2010.
The hydrant flushing will take place on weekdays between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. For any questions please contact the Water Department directly at 914-245-6111 or visit the Water Department website at www.yorktownny.org.
Please be advised that flushing may cause some discoloration of water. This does not represent a health hazard. However, customers are cautioned to determine if the water is clear before washing clothes (or any other processing) as staining may occur. If you experience discolored water run the cold water in all your faucets for approximately 5-10 minutes.
The Water District regrets any temporary inconvenience you may experience however, the flushing program is necessary to maintain a good water supply for both firefighting and domestic consumption.
