Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Battle of Pines Bridge Monument

The Pines Bridge Monument Committee (PBMC), in conjunction with the Yorktown Historical Society (YHS), is happy to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the Battle of Pines Monument on Saturday May 18 from 11:00am to 1:00 PM at Downing Park, which is located at 2881 Crompond Road Yorktown Heights, NY 10598 (near the intersections of Route 202 and Route 132). The first lot of sponsorship bricks will be unveiled near the site of the actual monument. The 5th New York Regiment re-enactors will be on hand for a Living History program, demonstrating the everyday life of Continental Soldiers while encamped during the American Revolution/War for Independence. Additionally, Nuttin’ To It and the Lions of Yorktown will be there to feed our hungry guests and participants. Attendees interested in sponsoring a brick/paving stone that day will have an opportunity to speak with Donna Corti, the Brick Sales Manager for the Yorktown Historical Society. Anyone interested in sponsoring a brick may contact Donna at any time at (914)-282-6564 or go directly to http://yorktownhistory.org/donate/pines-bridge-monument/. Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you there! Sincerely, Paul R. Martin, III – Yorktown Historical Society President
