Interstate 84 Eastbound to be Closed October 19-20 at NY/CT Border for Bridge Work Project

This is a reminder that the I-84 Eastbound bridge closure at NY/CT line will begin at 5PM next Saturday (October 19-20th).

In order to reconstruct the eastbound bridge carrying I-84 over Dingle Ridge Road in the Town of Southeast, New York State, I-84 will be closed in the Eastbound direction only and will be detoured onto US Route 6 between Exit 20 (the I-684 interchange) in the Town of Southeast in New York and Exit 1 in The Town of Danbury in CT.  The interstate is expected to be open and the detours removed by Sunday afternoon.

Seek alternate routes and/or allow additional time if traveling through the area.

Local Closures:

Please note that Dingle Ridge Road will be closed beginning Friday morning October 18th until Wednesday October 23rd.  To allow the I-84 traffic to detour onto Route 6, left turns will be prohibited onto Route 6 within the detour route (between Route 22 and Sawmill Lane) this includes the Peach Lake Road and the Star Ridge Road intersections. Detour signs will be posted for affected local routes.  Please allow additional time to reach your destination.  See https://www.dot.ny.gov/NYI84CT/closures for more information on local detours.

Visit 511ny.org and https://www.dot.ny.gov/NYI84CT for more information and updates during the closure. Contact nyi84ct@dot.ny.gov or (845) 363 -1182 if an issue occurs during construction.
