COVID-19 Update

From the desk of Supervisor Matt Slater:

Westchester County has launched its new dashboard which provides updated numbers by community.

Yorktown now has 335 known contagious individuals (active cases). The last time local numbers were provided on December 11th we had 251.

As the Christmas and New Years approach this provides another stern reminder that COVID is not taking off for the holidays. As a community we must remain focused and make responsible decisions that protect each other.

Yesterday I spoke with the leadership of Caremount, including President & CEO Dr. Scott Hayworth and Dr. Lewis Kohl Chief Safety Officer, who emphasized that COVID fatigue is real but we just need to hang on a little bit longer. Both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are being distributed throughout the region in accordance with the State plan.

The Yorktown community has consistently proven its resolve and perseverance this year. We are strongest when we face these challenges as a united community and I know we will emerge stronger than ever in the coming months!
