Enroll in Community Solar & Help Green our Electric Grid

Community SolarFrom the desk of Supervisor Matt Slater:

Yorktown residents (and eligible organizations and businesses) can now enjoy the savings of Community Solar AND help green our electric grid. Many Yorktown residents have had questions about community solar and we’re pleased that through our partnership with Sustainable Westchester, we can offer this vetted opportunity.

Benefits of participating include:

  • Savings of up to 10% on your utility bill.
  • No solar installation on your property and no cost to join or cancel.
  • No change to your electricity supplier. Community Solar does not change this.
  • Directly support Yorktown’s sustainability goals and the transition to renewable energy.

Enrolling is easy and requires providing your utility information (account number and an uploaded bill if a ConEd customer and, if a NYSEG customer, your account number and Point of Delivery (POD) number found on the 3rd page of your NYSEG bill), creating a billing profile to allow for auto payment from your designated bank account for the discounted solar credits and, e-signing an agreement.

For more information, or to enroll, please visit www.SustainableWestchester.org/Solar. If you have questions, or need help, please email CommunitySolar@SustainableWestchester.org or call Sustainable Westchester at 914-242-4725 x112.

We’re proud to offer this opportunity for Yorktown residents and eligible organizations and businesses to take action to help New York transition to a clean energy future while benefiting from savings on their electricity bills.
