Jeremiah R. Dineen III Hunter Brook Linear Park

Hunter Brook

The Jeremiah R. Dineen III Hunter Brook Linear Park was created when two adjacent housing developments were required to donate open space as part of their developments. The 56 acre park is owned by the Town of Yorktown and Westchester Land Trust and consists of 2 miles of hiking trails, mostly along the Hunter Brook. On December 8, 2009, the Town Board approved renaming the Hunterbrook Linear Park to the “Jeremiah R. Dineen, III Hunterbrook Linear Park” in memory of his many years of volunteer service to the town in various capacities including 10 years as Chairman of the Planning Board Chairman and his role in the preservation of the land that became the park.
