Job Description
Requirement: Valid NY State Driver’s License
Description:  Welcomes all park visitors, checks in and directs those with group permits.  Responsible for daily upkeep of fields and bathrooms, including but Not limited to basic landscaping, trash removal, basic repairs, and cleaning and restocking of toiletries.
Location:  Town of Yorktown Recreation and Parks Department
Legacy/Woodlands and Granite Knolls Sporting Complex’s
Salary Range: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Schedule: Weekdays 4-8pm & Weekends 10am-2pm
Multiple shifts. Shift could start at 7am and end no later than 10pm.
Starts: As early as August 15 through December 2022
Examples of Work:
  • Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation
  • Perform routine custodial and maintenance tasks (i.e. clean & disinfect bathrooms, clean courts & field, cut grass, put away equipment.)
  • Prepare Courts, Fields, and Pavilion for upcoming reservations.
  • Direct teams and groups with permits to the appropriate locations
  • Assist park users; provide information on parks rules and procedures. When necessary will enforce rules, policies and regulations. Check party/group permits as well as maintain good relations with park visitors during their time at the park.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be willing to work various shifts on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
