Annual Support-A-Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer

Matt Slater, Yorktown Town Supervisor is a proud sponsor of Support Connection’s Annual Support-A-Walk.  Bring help and hope to people fighting breast and ovarian cancer by participating in Support Connection’s Annual Support-A-Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020. Each year, thousands of people take part in this uplifting event. Many participants walk in celebration of or in tribute to those affected by these diseases. Proceeds help fund Support Connection’s free programs and services for people affected by breast and ovarian cancer.

This year the Support-A-Walk has a new theme: Walk With Us, Wherever You Are. Even though we can’t gather by the thousands in the park, we can still walk together and work together for a common cause. Walk on your own or with family and friends. Where you walk, the distance you walk, and the amount of time you spend walking, are all up to you. If you have family and friends in other places, they can walk wherever they are too!

There are many ways you can help!

  • Form a Walk Team
  • Collect donations and walk on your own
  • Raise funds online by asking family, friends and others to donate
  • Spread the word to everyone you know. Everyone is welcome: men and women, students, families, people of all ages.

Your participation will make a difference in many lives. Even if you won’t be able to walk, you can donate and fundraise.

Support Connection has helped thousands of people since they opened their doors in 1996. They offer individualized peer counseling, support groups and many other programs, all free of charge. Through their toll-free number, they provide information and support to people all over the country.
