Black History Month Poetry Event - February 25th

Celebrate Black History at the John C Hart Memorial Library Poetry Event

Celebrate Black History Month through poetry!

On Saturday, February 25th at 10:30 AM join us at the John C. Hart Memorial Library to listen to poems by Black poets and share one yourself when we open the mic. Then we will break into three groups; children, teen and adult to participate in a “black out” poetry activity. "Black out" poetry uses old books to make something new. Everyone gets a page from a random book and you make a poem by blacking out some words, leaving only the words that you want to make up a poem.

Sign up to read a poem of your choice by emailing yorktownforjustice@gmail.com

All ages welcome!
