Milling & Paving by Con Ed Contractor on the Following Streets this Week

Con Ed’s Contractor will be milling/paving the following Streets, Weather Permitting:       

          August 15th – Gomer St between London & Homestead

          August 16th – Montross Rd from Summit to Edgewood

          August 17th – Moseman Rd from Hanover to Maxwell

Gomer Street Detour

Update: The following detour will continue through Wednesday, June 20th. 

There will be a detour  on Gomer Street as the road will be closed for gas work to be done in the middle of the road. The detour when traveling north on Gomer will be from Cording Road, to Hickory Street, to Granite Springs Road.  When traveling south on Gomer the detour will be London Road to Quinlin Street. Roads will be passable for school buses, garbage and emergency vehicles.

Con Edison Gomer Street Project

Detours are established when needed. There is never a time when the road is completely closed both ways and after tomorrow there should never be a time when one lane is closed without a detour.  If this has happened, it was only for a few minutes for moving pipe due to the safety of all around the area. In that event, some vehicles did not want to wait the few minutes, so they decided to turn around which was an inconvenience for them. Con Ed will continue to consult with Yorktown PD regarding the detours so that they can alert the public to minimize this inconvenience.
