    ATTENTION POOL USERS: The Parks and Recreation Department apologizes for any inconvenience, however the Junior Lake Pool facility will not be opening Saturday, May 25, 2013 as originally scheduled.

    As an alternative we will be opening Shrub Oak Pool located on Sunnyside Street in Shrub Oak during the originally scheduled times of Junior Lake Pool. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Summer Concerts at the Gazebo

    The Yorktown Lion's Club and the Yorktown Parks & Rec Dept will host the Audi Mohegan Lake 19th Annual Summer Concert Series at the John "Jack" De Vito Gazebo on Veterans Road. All concerts are free and open to the public.  Join us Sunday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00 PM for great music this summer. Rain location is in the Yorktown Stage located adjacent to the Gazebo at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center.

  • Senior Newsletter

    The Senior Newsletter is a bimonthly publication of the Parks & Recreation Department.  The newsletter includes informative articles of interest to seniors as well as a summary of available senior clubs, activities, and the monthly calendar of Yorktown Nutrition Center activities. 

  • Recreation Commission

    The Yorktown Recreation Commission was created in 1969.  The Commission is a policy making group and is basically autonomous except for fiscal policy which remains in the hands of the Town Board. The Commission directly supervises the Superintendent of Parks & Recreation.

The Department also strives to develop and maintain a diversified park system that will appeal to all outdoor interests.
