Fire Hydrant Replacement - Water Shut Down Kitchawan Water District

Due to a fire hydrant replacement in your area, it will necessary to close down the water on Shingle House Road (#5 – #45), Gregory Lane, Scott Lane, Pinesbridge Road (#246 & #255) as well as the Kitchawan Water District within the Town of Yorktown.  The Yorktown Water Department has been notified of this shut down.  The work that is to take place will be for a fire hydrant replacement that was recently struck by a vehicle on Shingle House Road.  During this work, there will be a water unit staff member on site that can be reached at 438-6110. 

This hydrant replacement will take place on Thursday, October 8, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  When the water is turned back on, there could be flow reversals in your supply lines.  This could lead to slightly discolored water for a short period of time.  If needed, run the cold water to clear the sediment from the system and before doing any laundry.
